When you first come to see me I will take some details of your background, including medical history. If you are seeing your GP for an ongoing medical condition, please note that I may require your GP to complete a form confirming that hypnotherapy would, in their professional opinion, be appropriate. This is because, although I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist, I am not a trained doctor. The personal safety and well-being of my clients is paramount and I am guided by the professional judgment of suitably qualified medical practitioners, where such an appraisal is required.
When you first visit me, I will ask about any symptoms you may be experiencing, what problems you are looking for help with and what outcome you hope to achieve. I firmly believe in the importance of feeling a rapport with your therapist. For this reason, the first session may take a little longer, as I allow an initial 20 minutes free. This allows you to come along and find out more about hypnotherapy and to meet me. If, after the 20 minutes, you feel that hypnotherapy is not going to be right for you, you may leave without any awkwardness. If, however, you decide to go ahead I always allow enough time to deliver a full session for your immediate benefit. Please be reassured that I am committed to helping you achieve positive results in as short a time as possible.
